Ford & Harrison’s Louis P. Britt Named Fellow of Tennessee Bar Foundation and Managing Partner of Memphis Office

MEMPHIS - Ford & Harrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, is pleased to announce that Louis P. Britt has been elected as a Fellow of the Tennessee Bar Foundation, an association of attorneys from across the state. The Foundation honors attorneys who have distinguished themselves in the profession by electing them to membership as Fellows and directs their contributions to support selected, law-related public interest projects.

Mr. Britt was also recently appointed to serve as managing partner for Ford & Harrison’s Memphis office. He succeeds Herb Gerson, who will remain on the executive committee of the firm and will continue to serve as the liaison to the firm’s offices located in Birmingham, Dallas, Denver, Memphis, Minneapolis and New York. As managing partner, Mr. Britt will be responsible for the overall operation of the Memphis office including its 17 attorneys, 2 consultants and full staff. He will also continue to serve on the Firm's Marketing Committee and Diversity Committee, as well as a member of the firm's Retail Industry Group.

Mr. Britt concentrates his practice on employment litigation and advice, representing private and public employers in a broad range of employment matters. He handles employment discrimination and harassment cases, wage/hour matters, enforcement and defense of restrictive covenants contained in employment agreements, and employment-related torts.

He is a member of the American Bar Association, Labor and Employment Section; Tennessee Bar Association, Labor Section; and the Memphis Bar Association, Labor and Employment Section. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America 2006 edition and is also AV® Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He received his degrees from Tulane University Law School (J.D., 1977) and the University of Memphis (B.A., cum laude, 1974).
