FordHarrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, is pleased to announce that Shane T. Muñoz, a partner in the firm's Tampa office, has been inducted as a Fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. Election as a Fellow is the highest recognition by one's colleagues of sustained outstanding performance in the profession, exemplifying integrity, dedication and excellence.
"I am honored to be inducted as a Fellow of this prestigious organization," remarked Muñoz. "I plan to work diligently to further the College's goals of promoting achievement, advancement and excellence in the practice of labor and employment law."
The seventeenth installation of Fellows was held November 3 in Atlanta, Georgia, coincident with the American Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Section's Continuing Legal Education Conference. The College is represented by members in 43 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and six provinces from Canada. With the current installation, Muñoz is one of only 37 Fellows from Florida.
The College was established in 1995 through an initiative of the Council of The Section of Labor and Employment Law of the American Bar Association. It operates as a free standing organization recognizing those who, by long and outstanding service, have distinguished themselves as leaders in the field. It's mission is to further establish this profession in all its aspects as one uniquely important to the world of labor and employment law, individual rights, collective bargaining and dispute resolution.
Muñoz is Board Certified in Florida as an expert in labor and employment law. He has an active civil trial and client counseling practice in labor and employment law. Throughout his 23-year career, he has successfully represented business organizations in a wide range of labor and employment matters, including employment discrimination, whistleblower, harassment, restrictive covenants, wage and hour, and other complex litigation. In addition, he is frequently retained to represent clients in federal, state and local investigations. Muñoz also has wide-ranging experience in representing clients in internal investigations involving alleged harassment, disparate treatment and other employee misconduct. He has substantial experience in helping clients develop and implement employment policies and procedures designed to foster positive employee relations and to minimize legal risks. Muñoz received his J.D., magna cum laude, from University of Connecticut School of Law in 1989.
