Angela Fontana's practice is focused on the defense of management in employment disputes.

Angela has defended employers in disputes in state and federal courts throughout California, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) and Labor Commissioner’s Office. She handles claims of discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination and retaliation, leaves of absence and accommodations, including issues arising under the California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, California Family Rights Act (CFRA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Pregnancy Disability Leave Law (PDLL) and California Labor Code.

She also counsels employers regarding the preparation of policies and practices that comply with state, federal and local employment requirements.

Angela has worked for clients in a variety of industries such as the health care, restaurant, apparel and entertainment industries. Prior to joining FordHarrison, she was an associate for a civil litigation firm, where her practice included the defense of public entities in employment disputes. During law school, she clerked for the Employment Litigation Section of the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office.

  • Obtained summary judgment in Los Angeles Superior Court on claims for gender discrimination by multiple plaintiffs.
  • Obtained summary judgment in Riverside Superior Court and in Nevada County Superior Court on lawsuits alleging disability discrimination, failure to engage in an interactive process and failure to accommodate a disability.
  • Procured dismissal of case alleging race discrimination and retaliation in United States District Court.
  • Obtained summary judgment in Los Angeles Superior Court on claims of gender discrimination, sexual harassment and defamation.
  • Obtained summary judgment on claims of sexual harassment and retaliation in United States District Court.
  • Obtained summary judgment in Riverside Superior Court on claims of race and national origin discrimination and wrongful termination.
  • Secured dismissal of multiple defendants from lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court alleging wage and hour violations, breach of contract and unfair business practices.
