The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, signed into law by President Obama on March 23, 2010 and as amended by the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act on March 30, 2010, contains some of the most sweeping changes to the U.S. health care system ever enacted. Although the changes will be phased in over an eight year period, many of them will be effective in 2010 and require immediate action on the part of employers. Ford & Harrison is committed to helping our clients understand this complex law and providing helpful resources for clients to develop a strategic plan for implementing health care reform requirements in their organizations.
The health care reform section of Ford & Harrison's website was created to provide employers up-to-date information on the health care reform legislation and practical resources for your organization. All Ford & Harrison Legal Alerts on the health care reform legislation as well as other helpful tools will be posted on this page for your convenience. We will soon host a complimentary webinar to help you better understand the law and prepare for the necessary changes to your employee benefits plans. The webinar will be recorded and posted here for your future reference.
Check this section of our website often. We will post more helpful tools and resources in the months ahead. Of course, if you have any questions regarding the health care reform legislation, we encourage you to contact any of Ford & Harrison's employee benefits attorneys (see Related Attorneys on this page), or the attorney with whom you currently work.
