LaTanyia Walker focuses her legal practice on the representation of employers in issues involving labor and employment law.
Prior to joining FordHarrison, LaTanyia served as a Law Clerk for the Shelby County Government Attorney's Office. In this position, she drafted various legal documents and participated in union negotiations. As a Law Clerk for the Thirtieth Judicial District at Memphis Circuit Court Division V, LaTanyia made recommendations on motions and ensured compliance with procedural rules and regulations. LaTanyia also interned in the Legal Departments of two large, national non-profit organizations, where she gained experience handling a variety of labor and employment matters.
During law school, LaTanyia served as the Notes Editor for the University of Memphis Law Review. She also received the Tennessee Supreme Court's Law Student for Justice Award, the Dean's Pro Bono Award, and was active in many student organizations including serving as the Director of Membership for the Southern Region Black Law Students Association. She is also a graduate of the Tennessee Bar Association's Diversity Leadership Institute.
Currently, LaTanyia is the Continuing Legal Education Committee Chair for the Ben F. Jones Chapter of the National Bar Association.
