Allyn Lowell Receives Board Certification in Labor & Employment Law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization

DALLAS – FordHarrison LLP, one of the country’s largest management-side labor and employment law firms, is pleased to announce that Allyn Jaqua Lowell, Counsel, received Board Certification in Labor & Employment Law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Allyn has focused her practice on the representation of management in employment litigation for ten years. She defends employers in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies in discrimination, harassment, retaliation and other employment actions arising under Title VII, the FMLA, the FLSA, the RLA, the NLRA, the ADA, the ADEA, the Equal Pay Act, ERISA, the Texas Health and Safety Code, and the Texas Labor Code. Board Certification is a voluntary designation program certifying Texas attorneys in 22 specific areas of law. Board Certified attorneys must be licensed for at least five years, devote a required percentage of practice to a specialty area for at least three years, attend continuing education seminars, pass an evaluation by fellow lawyers and judges and pass a 6-hour written examination.

Board Certification is offered in 22 specific areas of law to attorneys. Initial certification is valid for five years. To remain certified attorneys and paralegals must apply for recertification every five years and meet substantial involvement, peer review and continuing legal education requirements for their specialty area.
