About the Program
The Georgia Chapter of Association of Corporate Counsel and FordHarrison LLP will present "Do You Know Who's Looking Behind the Curtain? How Much Can Employee Data Breaches Really Hurt Your Company?"  Employee data privacy laws are complex and continuing to evolve from both federal and state law perspectives.  Data privacy requirements of foreign jurisdictions also can be implicated for multinational companies.  The cost of data breaches can be significant, including fines, damages, and criminal punishment.  To avoid breaches or to any mitigate breaches,
in-house counsel must ensure that their companies' have privacy policies and procedures, provide training, and perform risk assessment and planning for any potential breaches to ensure prompt and thorough investigation.  In-house counsel of multinational companies should consider use of model contractual provisions, self-certification safe harbor program, and binding corporate rules for cross-border data transfers.

Join FordHarrison partner Tiffany Downs and associate Scott Wagner for a luncheon seminar as they help you navigate the various employee data privacy laws.  Tiffany and Scott will discuss best practices for ensuring compliance with the differing employee privacy data laws and checklist of items for consideration, the cost of and remedies available for non-compliance and strategies for dealing with breaches and mitigation efforts.

Attendance is limited to ACC members and their invited guests, as well as prospective ACC members. ACC membership is open to attorneys who practice law as in-house counsel employees of organizations and who do not hold themselves out to the public for the practice of law.

Thanks to FordHarrison, the CLE lunch program is complimentary for the first 120 ACC members who register on-line.  Thereafter, the fee for current ACC members is $25, and, in all circumstances, $35 for non-members, including prospective members.  A CLE credit of one (1) hour is being applied for, and if approved, will be submitted to the Georgia State Bar for attendees licensed to practice in Georgia.  To register go to: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/december-lunch-tickets-14486632909.  If you have any questions, contact Connie Swindell-Harding at accgeorgiachapter@gmail.com.

Reminder
ACC-Georgia will continue its annual tradition of donating new, unwrapped toys to the United States Marines Toys for Tots at our December 9th monthly luncheon.  Each toy you donate will make the holiday extra special for a little girl or boy in Georgia.  You can also donate by cash or check (made out to "Toys for Tots") to any of the ACC-Georgia Board members or directly to the U.S. Marines at the event.  While you're out shopping for Hanukah or Christmas gifts, please take a few minutes to pick out a few extra toys for children who may be less fortunate.  Help us make this year's toy drive an overwhelming success!
