Employers' Response to Racial Unrest - Complimentary Webinar

Date   Recorded: Thursday, June 11, 2020

Recorded: Thursday, June 11, 2020

About the Program
The global response to George Floyd’s tragic and shocking death, amid the economic crisis of COVID-19, and ensuing protests and riots, has impacted businesses indirectly and directly. As these current events continue throughout the country, employers may be faced with a plethora of issues that surface in the workplace and should be proactively prepared for a response.

Join FordHarrison partners Wesley Redmond and Dawn Siler-Nixon as they discuss actions employers should consider during these critical times to define their business to employees and the public and respond appropriately to complaints or conduct.  The program will discuss actions employers should take to offer support to employees, prevent claims of racial discrimination and to protect against, what likely will be, an increase in such claims.

The program will address questions many employers are raising such as:

  • Do I need to amend or republish my policies against harassment and discrimination?
  • Do I need to amend my policies to address workplace discussions about the current events?
  • Can I discipline employees for off-duty conduct?

Continuing Education
