Ford & Harrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, is pleased to announce the addition of Nancy Van der Veer Holt as a senior associate in the firm's Washington, DC office. Previously, Holt practiced with the law firm Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP in Providence, Rhode Island.
Holt focuses her practice on the representation of management in labor and employment matters. She has defended employers in relation to discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination actions in both state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. Holt also represents employers in grievance resolution, including arbitration. In addition, Holt counsels employers on a variety of issues, including employee terminations, drafting and negotiating employment and separation agreements, and Title VII, FMLA, FLSA, ADA and WARN Act compliance. She also drafts and reviews employee handbooks and policies, and has conducted workplace training sessions on sexual harassment prevention. Holt received her J.D., with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2006.
