Ford & Harrison Names Three New Partners in New York, Chicago and Memphis

Ford & Harrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, is pleased to announce that three of the firm's attorneys have been named partner. Mark A. Konkel in the firm's New York office, Brian J. Kurtz in the firm's Chicago office and David A. Prather in the firm's Memphis office, were named partners to the firm effective January 1, 2011.

Mark Konkel exclusively represents employers in a broad range of industries in employment law and traditional labor law matters. In addition to regularly counseling employers, he represents companies in federal and state court, arbitration, and before the Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, and the National Mediation Board. He received his J.D. from New York Law School, magna cum laude, in 2000.

Brian Kurtz focuses his practice on traditional labor law, guiding employers through collective bargaining negotiations, union organizing campaigns, strikes and picketing, arbitrations, and unfair labor practice cases before the National Labor Relations Board. He also represents employers in restrictive covenant and trade secret litigation and drafts employment agreements containing noncompete, nonsolicitation, and confidentiality provisions. Kurtz also defends employers in discrimination cases before administrative agencies such as the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and in the state and federal courts of Illinois and other jurisdictions. He received his J.D. from George Washington University Law School, cum laude, in 1997.

David Prather concentrates his practice on employment litigation and advice, representing employers in a broad range of employment matters. He handles employment discrimination and harassment cases (Title VII, ADA, ADEA and FMLA) and cases involving employment-related torts. He has considerable experience with FLSA litigation, including collective/class actions. Before initially joining Ford & Harrison in 2001, David practiced employment law in Mississippi. He received his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University in 1997.
