Ford & Harrison Selected as a Finalist for the Minority of Corporate Counsel Association's Thomas L. Sager Award

Dallas - Ford & Harrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, is pleased to announce that the firm has been selected as one of three finalists for the Minority Corporate Counsel Association's 2011 Thomas L. Sager Award for the South/Southwest Region. The Sager Award is MCCA's most prestigious award, given to law firms that have demonstrated sustained commitment to improve the hiring, retention and promotion of minority attorneys. The winner of this award will be announced at the MCCA Regional Networking Forum taking place on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The program will feature a panel discussion with local legal leaders discussing how fascinating life experiences have impacted their careers. After the panel discussion, the Honorable Laura Miller will deliver the keynote remarks, followed by the announcement of the Regional Sager Award Winner and a VIP Networking Reception.

Ford & Harrison was named a finalist due to an aggressive strategic plan for improving diversity and inclusion at the firm. Some of the more recent action items and successes have included a firmwide diversity training program, a "Partners in Progress" mentoring program for all associates, a pipeline initiative which includes a scholarship for a minority law students and an expanded minority mentoring network, collaborative efforts with diversity associations in each of our cities, and "Connections for Success," a mentoring program for the Boys & Girls Club of America's Southeast region "Youth of the Year" winners.
