FordHarrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, announces the addition of Scott V. Wagner as an associate in the firm's Employee Benefits Group in Atlanta. Prior to joining FordHarrison, Wagner was an attorney at the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) in Washington, D.C.

Wagner is one of several members of FordHarrison's Employee Benefits Group who has worked for the various governmental agencies with which they now are involved on behalf of clients.  Tiffany Downs, a partner in Atlanta and head of FordHarrison's Employee Benefits Group and Terry Price, a partner in Birmingham, worked for the United States Department of Labor and Jeffrey Ashendorf, a partner in New York, worked for the Internal Revenue Service.  Their experience with those agencies provides them invaluable knowledge of the inner workings and the best ways to accomplish desired results for their clients.

Wagner focuses his practice on advising employers in employee benefits law.  His practice includes counseling and training clients on their obligations under ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, Health Care Reform and other employee benefits related statutes.  Scott also represents clients in federal and state courts in employee benefits litigation.  He also drafts and reviews plan documents and provides counsel to employers on the administration and legal compliance of their health and welfare employee benefit plans.

Wagner's role at the PBGC included working to protect covered pension plans put at risk in corporate transactions, managing ERISA litigation against plan sponsors and designing and drafting e-discovery procedures, policies and legal hold forms. Wagner received his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law in 2010 and received his  LL.M. in Taxation with a Certificate in Employee Benefits, from Georgetown University Law Center, with Distinction, Dean's List, in May 2012.

"We are very pleased to welcome Scott to the Employee Benefits Group," commented Downs. "Adding an attorney with Scott's background and expertise strengthens our efforts to deliver the highest level of quality client service."
