FordHarrison Adds Two Top Labor & Employment Attorneys to Nashville Office

Date   Jul 9, 2012

FordHarrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, is pleased to announce the addition of two prominent attorneys to the firm's Nashville office.  Mark E. Stamelos joins as partner and Joshua J. Sudbury joins as an associate.  They formerly practiced with King & Ballow in Nashville.

Mark Stamelos' practice has encompassed a wide range of employment law matters for employers, including wage and hour, employment discrimination, and wrongful termination litigation and arbitrations.  He has successfully defended clients against claims of age, race, disability and gender discrimination, sexual harassment, "whistle-blower" retaliation, and wrongful discharge claims under state and federal law.  Mr. Stamelos also regularly advises and represents clients in connection with trade secret and unfair competition issues.

In addition to his litigation experience, he regularly counsels clients on their employment practices and policies.  Mr. Stamelos has drafted employers' handbooks, policy manuals, non-competition and confidentiality agreements and employment contracts in an effort to help his clients avoid the numerous pitfalls contained in various employment laws and regulations and to help his clients protect their valuable business interests.  He received his J.D. from Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio, and is a former judicial law clerk for U.S. District Court Judge Elizabeth V. Hallanan, Southern District of West Virginia.

Joshua Sudbury represents companies in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies against employee claims brought pursuant to Title VII, ADA, ADEA, and FLSA.  He also has experience in trucking industry representation and with employment law focused consulting.  He received his J.D. from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2009, and is a former judicial law clerk for Magistrate Judge Diane Vescovo, Western District of Tennessee.

"We are pleased to add both Mark and Josh to our Nashville office," commented Louis Britt, managing partner of the Nashville office. "Their arrival further strengthens the firm's ability to provide comprehensive services to our clients in Middle and East Tennessee, as well as other parts of the region.  Both are committed to providing excellent client service, which is the foundation of the FordHarrison culture."
