Four FordHarrison Attorneys Selected to "Washington, DC Super Lawyers" List for 2013

FordHarrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, is pleased to announce that four Washington, DC-based attorneys have been selected to the 2013 Washington, DC Super Lawyers list.

The following attorneys were recognized: Anessa Abrams, Herve Aitken, Dannie Fogleman and Gary Lieber.

Anessa Abrams represents employers in labor and employment matters before federal and state courts and administrative agencies. Her practice ranges from issues arising under the National Labor Relations Act to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and non-compete matters. She assists employers in drafting employment policies and handbooks and counsels corporate executives and managers on the myriad of issues that arise in the employer-employee relationship, including classification issues under the Fair Labor Standards Act, leave requests, employee terminations, and layoffs. She has investigated allegations of inappropriate workplace conduct, and has conducted training sessions for managers and supervisors on EEO issues. Abrams received her J.D. from George Washington University Law School, with honors,  in 1995.

Herve Aitken focuses his practice on the representation of U.S. and foreign corporations in Litigation in federal courts and in collective bargaining negotiations with labor unions. He has practiced labor and employment law for more than 40 years. His primary focus is representing employers in the Multiemployer Pension Plan Amendments Act of 1980 (MPPAA) in four primary areas: Transactional work limiting a controlled group's exposure to withdrawal liability; MPPAA arbitration; MPPAA Litigation; and MPPAA federal legislation. Aitken received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center
in 1970.

Dannie Fogleman has concentrated his practice in employment-related litigation in both state and federal courts for the past 30 years. He has handled a number of high-profile cases, ranging from pension and benefits litigation to class actions and sexual harassment cases. He also has extensive experience in representing private employers in collective bargaining and arbitrations, as well as advising government contractors with respect to the Service Contract Act. A significant portion of his practice is devoted to representing air carriers under the Railway Labor Act and related statutes. He has represented airlines in scores of arbitrations as well as federal and state court litigation and AIR 21 matters. He also represents airlines in collective bargaining and advises airlines on labor relations issues.  Fogleman received his J.D. from University of South Carolina School of Law, cum laude, in 1974 and he received his L.L.M. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1981.

Gary Lieber has more than 30 years of experience as a labor and employment attorney. He concentrates his practice in labor-management relations and defense of employment discrimination cases on behalf of management. He has litigated numerous labor and employment cases before administrative agencies and in Federal and State courts. He is a successful trial attorney having litigated a broad range of labor and employment law matters including jury trials in employment discrimination cases, unfair labor practices before the NLRB and well over 100 labor arbitration cases. He has also negotiated collective bargaining agreements in a wide range of industries, including construction, manufacturing, higher education and the service sector. Lieber received his J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law in 1974 and he received his LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1979.
