Date   Feb 2, 2009

USCIS has announced that it will delay implementation of the new I-9 form until April 3, 2009.

USCIS has announced that it will delay implementation of the new I-9 form until April 3, 2009. USCIS issued an interim final rule in December 2008, which amended its regulations governing the types of acceptable identity and employment authorization documents and receipts that employees may present to their employers for completion of the I-9 form and included a new I-9 form. This rule was to take effect February 2, 2009. On January 30, 2009 USCIS announced that it is delaying implementation of the rule in order to extend the public comment period.
