New Partner and Counsel Join FordHarrison's San Francisco Office

Date   Jan 3, 2018

FordHarrison LLP, one of the country’s largest management-side labor and employment law firms, is pleased to announce that Ross A. Boughton and Timothy L. Reed have joined the firm’s San Francisco office. Ross joins as office managing partner and Tim joins as counsel. Both Ross and Tim come to FordHarrison from Villarreal Hutner.

“We are excited about these two new additions. Ross and Tim both bring added depth to our team and their commitment to client service makes them valuable assets to the firm,” said Lyne Richardson, regional managing partner over the firm’s California offices.

Ross has spent his entire career as an employment law practitioner, defending and advising employers on a broad range of aspects of California and federal employment law. Ross is a seasoned litigator, representing clients based in California and throughout the U.S. in wage and hour class actions involving various claims such as unpaid overtime, unpaid minimum wages, meal and rest period violations, vacation wages, business expenses, reporting time pay, split shift premiums, and wage statement violations. Ross has also defended dozens of clients in single and multi-Plaintiff actions stemming from claims including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, breach of contract, failure to accommodate, failure to provide protected leave, and failure to pay stock options. Ross has experience leading litigation teams at both the trial court and appellate level, often in disputes with novel or emerging areas of law.

Ross also concentrates his practice on providing advice and representation to management in a broad range of issues related to California and federal employment laws. A significant component of his practice is the preventive advice he provides clients, including counseling them through addressing employment decisions, drafting and revising personnel policies, and navigating complex compliance issues.

“I look forward to leading the firm’s San Francisco office and contributing to the success and growth of the firm,” said Ross.

Tim has spent his entire legal career representing employers both in the courtroom and before administrative agencies in defense of a wide range of employment law claims including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract, defamation, and wage and hour claims. To help employers avoid costly employment law litigation and administrative agency compliance issues, Tim regularly provides his clients with preventive counsel regarding workplace policies and personnel management issues. In light of the constantly evolving employment law landscape, Tim devotes much of his time keeping abreast of emerging legislative and legal developments that impact his clients’ employment practices.  Tim has co-authored numerous articles published in The Daily Recorder covering a breadth of employment law issues.

“I am excited to join a firm with such a large national presence and look forward to continuing to grow my practice with FordHarrison,” said Tim.
