Miami – Ford & Harrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, announces the further expansion of its Miami office with the addition of Sylvia A. Krainin as a partner and Christopher M. Curran as a senior associate. Both attorneys previously practiced with Adorno & Yoss, LLP in Miami. They join Zascha Blanco Abbott, formerly an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Miami Office, who started with the firm as a senior associate in July.

While at Adorno & Yoss, Krainin and Curran specialized in representing professional sports franchises and organizations in workplace injury related grievances and arbitration proceedings pursuant to contracts and collective bargaining agreements and in judicial proceedings at both the state and federal levels. They also counseled national corporations in a number of employment and workplace safety related issues, including HIPAA compliance, FMLA, employer workplace safety programs, drug free workplace compliance, alternative dispute resolution, authorization of collective bargaining agreements and retaliatory discharge claims.

Krainin has been practicing law in Miami for more than 20 years. She represents employers exclusively in the defense of workplace injury related claims and serves as a strategic advisor to a number of professional sports organizations as well as Fortune 500 companies in the area of workplace safety and employment. She has handled more than 50 appeals. Krainin currently serves as National Workers' Compensation Coordinating Counsel for a Fortune 500 company; Member of National Football League Management Council's Committee on Workers' Compensation Coverage of NFL Players; Member of the National Football League's Workers' Compensation Reimbursement Panel; and a designated workers' compensation panel attorney by Major League Baseball. She is active in the Florida Bar, including serving on the Executive Council for the Entertainment, Arts & Sports Law Section. Krainin received her J.D. from University of Miami School of Law in 1988.
Curran focuses his practice on working with employers on a broad range of labor and employment matters. He defends employers in employment litigation, with an emphasis on discrimination, harassment and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Curran also has significant experience in defending employers, particularly professional sports organizations, in workplace injury and safety matters. He has extensive experience in federal and state courts, as well as numerous federal and state administrative agencies. Curran received his J.D. from University of Miami School of Law in 2003.
Yvette Broche, a paralegal, and Vivian Perez, a legal assistant, also join Ford & Harrison's Miami office from Adorno & Yoss.
