Ford & Harrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, announces the addition of
Naveen Kabir as an associate in the firm's New York office. Most recently, Kabir was an attorney with the Women's Rights Project of the American Civil Liberties Union. She also was a Staff Attorney Fellow with Legal Momentum (formerly NOW Legal Defense & Education Fund) and an associate with Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP in New York.
Kabir focuses her practice on the representation of management in labor and employment law matters including claims of discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination and retaliation. She represents clients before federal and state courts as well as administrative agencies, like the EEOC and state and local human rights commissions.
In her role as an attorney for two different non-profit organizations devoted to legal advocacy in women's rights and gender discrimination issues, she drafted, researched and edited briefs, drafted responses to interrogatories and document requests, conducted and participated in depositions, researched and drafted memoranda analyzing gender discrimination issues in education and employment, and prepared expert and fact witnesses for testimony.
Kabir received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2008 and received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology from Stanford University in 2003. While in law school, Kabir served as a Research Assistant to Professor Diana Donahoe and was a member of the American Constitution Society.
"Naveen is a bright and talented attorney who you want on your team," said Stephen Zweig, managing partner of Ford & Harrison's New York office. "We are excited that she is joining us at Ford & Harrison."
