Angela has successfully represented employers in all aspects of employment law for almost two decades. She litigates federal and state court cases arising under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and other federal and state employment laws. Angela is at home in both state and federal courts in North Carolina, in arbitrations, and in front of state and federal administrative agencies (including EEOC, USDOL and NCDOL). She also has experience litigating class and collective actions, including wage and hour cases, as well as experience handling EEOC systemic investigations and Commissioner charges. In addition to her litigation experience, Angela counsels employers on strategies for avoiding litigation. She knows her clients, and their industries, inside and out so that she is able to provide practical and meaningful advice. She has successfully represented employers in jury and bench trials and has been instrumental in shaping favorable employer-side case law through reported decisions.
Julie represents employers in a broad range of industries, including the hospitality, technology and healthcare industries. She is highly experienced in matters arising under Title VII, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act, and various North Carolina state employment laws. Julie practices in state and federal courts and routinely appears before administrative agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, the North Carolina Department of Labor, the North Carolina Industrial Commission, and the North Carolina Employment Security Commission. She is also adept at counseling employers to reduce the risk of potential litigation and provides advice on the business and legal ramifications of day-to-day employment decisions.
