"What's in a name? Bias in the workplace," Georgia Employment Law Letter

Date   Apr 15, 2017

Katie O'Shea contributed her article, "What's in a name? Bias in the workplace," as a guest column in the April 2017 Georgia Employment Law Letter. Her article focuses on the experience a male employee and a female employee had while switching email signatures for two weeks.

"The man described his negative experience using his female coworker's name, tweeting that everything he asked or suggested was questioned and that one client even asked if he was single. Meanwhile, he reported his female coworker had the most productive weeks of her career."

The issue also includes articles covering sexual orientation discrimination, immigration, employee benefits, workplace issues, and trade secrets. To read the newsletter, visit: http://www.hrhero.com and follow the Employment Law Letter Subscriber Login link.
