FordHarrison LLP is pleased to announce that Zascha Blanco Abbott was elected Legal Education Director for The Florida Bar – Labor and Employment Law Section for 2014-2015.
The mission of the Labor and Employment Law Section is to serve and support its members through opportunities for education, leadership, networking, and public service, and by providing quality programs, publications, scholarships and awards relating to the field of labor and employment law. The Section actively sponsors the continuing education of the members of The Florida Bar in the field of labor and employment law. The Section encourages its members, through participation in the section and its activities, to enhance their practice and professionalism, and to improve service to their clients.
Zascha focuses her practice on the representation of public and private employers in labor and employment disputes. She has represented employers in a variety of employment matters, such as claims of discrimination, hostile work environment, wrongful discharge, constitutional violations, retaliation, and wage cases. Zascha also provides proactive employment advice to clients including policy development and employee handbook reviews. Her labor relations experience includes engaging in collective bargaining negotiations, preparing collective bargaining proposals, and preparing collective bargaining agreements as well as providing employers with guidance on labor issues.
