Angela Fontana's practice is focused on the defense of management in employment disputes.

Angela has defended employers in disputes in state and federal courts throughout California and before government agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH), Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) and California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board.  A significant portion of her practice is devoted to representing and counseling management as to claims for harassment, wrongful termination, discrimination and retaliation, leaves of absence, reasonable accommodations and the interactive process.

She also advises employers regarding the employment relationship and preparation of compliant employee handbooks and policies.  She has worked with companies in a wide range of industries including health care, hospitality and aviation.

Prior to joining FordHarrison, Angela was an associate for a civil litigation firm, where she defended management in employment disputes. Earlier in her career, she clerked for the Employment Litigation Section of the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office and for the Occupational Health and Safety Administration Section in the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office.

  • Obtained summary judgment in Los Angeles Superior Court on claims for gender discrimination by multiple plaintiffs.
  • Obtained summary judgment in Riverside Superior Court and in Nevada County Superior Court on lawsuits alleging disability discrimination, failure to engage in an interactive process and failure to accommodate a disability.
  • Procured dismissal of case alleging race discrimination and retaliation in United States District Court.
  • Obtained summary judgment in Los Angeles Superior Court on claims of gender discrimination, sexual harassment and defamation.
  • Obtained summary judgment on claims of sexual harassment and retaliation in United States District Court.
  • Obtained summary judgment in Riverside Superior Court on claims of race and national origin discrimination and wrongful termination.
  • Secured dismissal of multiple defendants from lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court alleging wage and hour violations, breach of contract and unfair business practices.
