Kristina Griffin represents employers in labor and employment disputes and provides guidance on workplace issues including non-compete agreements, personnel policies, and disability accommodations.

Kristina handles litigation arising from claims of discrimination under Title VII, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Kristina also counsels employers regarding implementing effective policies and procedures that comply with the law. 

Kristina represents clients in state and federal court and also regularly handles charges of discrimination in administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

While still in law school, Kristina completed a legal externship in which she worked alongside the in-house legal team of a global leader in consumer payment technologies. Then, as an attorney, Kristina returned to the same company, providing additional guidance and advice to internal business clients. Also during law school, Kristina had direct responsibility for handling clients’ cases as a part of the Community Health Law Partnership Clinic, a clinical program in which law students assist clients who have legal issues that impact their health.

Representative Experience
  • Defended client in lawsuit in which disability discrimination was alleged.
  • Revised code of conduct and other employment agreements for national and international companies.
  • Drafted employee handbooks for newly formed and/or rapidly growing businesses.
  • Obtained early dismissal of numerous claims against a healthcare company, including claims under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
  • Conducted training for management employees to reinforce best-practices in handling complaints of discrimination or harassment and documenting performance and disciplinary issues.
