(SCHRA) and South Brevard SHRM, Inc. (SBSHRM) partner each year to present a conference for the benefit of HR and business professionals. The conference provides valuable information and networking opportunities to our chapter members, business owners, managers, and supervisors.</p>  <p>In 2023 they will return to the Radisson Resort at the Port for their annual day of learning, networking, and fun.&nbsp;</p>  <p><u><strong>About Michelle Tatum-Bush and Louis Wilson&#39;s Session</strong></u><br /> <br /> <strong>Spring Legal Update &ndash; Including Tips on How to Avoid and Handle the Top Five Recurring HR Headaches in 2023</strong><br /> <em>12:55PM &ndash; 2:15PM</em><br /> <br /> This presentation is designed to provide an update on hot topics and legal developments impacting the workplace, including the latest on new federal laws providing rights for pregnant employees and the NLRB&rsquo;s attempt to limit inclusion of confidentiality and non-disparagement language in severance and settlement agreements.&nbsp; The session will also include an interactive session to help HR professional recognize and effectively address five workplace challenges that seem to keep coming up on a recurring basis&hellip; from applicants and employees who present medical marijuana cards when asked to drug test, to the manager who wants to fire an employee for attendance issues after neglecting to give the employee notice of FMLA rights.</p>  <p><strong><u>Continuing Education</u></strong><br /> The 2023 Space Coast Human Resource Conference is expected to be approved for 6 professional development credits (PDCs) towards SHRM-SCP and SHRM-CP recertification. It is also expected to&nbsp; be approved for 6 general recertification credits toward the aPHR&trade;, PHR&reg;, PHRca&reg;, SPHR&reg;, GPHR&reg;, PHRi&trade; and SPHRi&trade; through the HR Certification Institute (HRCI).
