The Spartanburg Small Business Development Center is hosting a workshop for all businesses, including small and growing business owners. The 2013 Employment & Healthcare Update contains information about updates, key changes, and trends to employment laws and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (also know as Health Care Reform) that will be affecting the operations and the budgets of small and growing business owners in 2013. Speakers will be FordHarrison partners Wade Ballard and Tiffany Downs. Some of the topics that will be covered under the Affordable Care Act include: 2013 Requirements, Small and Large Employer Requirements, Which Employers are Subject to the Play or Pay Mandate, and Identifying and Determining Full-Time Employees and Full-Time Equivalents. Other topics include regulatory changes for employers from the EEOC, NLRB and DOL, as well as predicted changes in employment statutes and case law.
