Maria Filandarakis exclusively represents management in matters involving labor and employment law.
A significant portion of Maria's practice is devoted to providing preventive counsel and day-to-day advice aimed at avoiding legal risks associated with the employment relationship. When litigation is unavoidable, she represents businesses and shareholders in state and federal courts, and before administrative agencies against a wide range of employment law claims including allegations of discrimination, retaliation, and wage and hour violations.
Prior to joining FordHarrison, Maria was an associate in the New York office of a general practice firm, where she represented businesses in labor and employment law, commercial litigation, residential real estate, and lender representation. Earlier in her career, she worked as a paralegal assisting attorneys in commercial litigation, landlord/tenant, and personal injury matters. She has also served as a litigation law clerk representing businesses in an array of matters from employment litigation, intellectual property protection, and other business disputes. She has also worked as legal intern in the intellectual property department at Tapestry, Inc.
