Matthew Gallo’s legal practice is focused on defending employers in legal disputes in state court, federal court, and during arbitration and mediation.

Matthew is well-versed in representing major corporations, individuals, and franchisors in a variety of labor and employment law areas.

Matthew has extensive experience representing clients, including Fortune 500 companies, in cases regarding wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful discharge, and breach of contract. Additionally, he has defended and litigated on behalf of trucking and transportation companies in both state and federal court.

He also regularly handles complex, nationwide class actions involving consumer protection, labor and employment issues, commercial litigation, franchise disputes, trademark claims, and much more.

Matthew is also focused on preventative advice, routinely advising clients on matters relating to wage and hour policies development and implementation, employee handbooks, confidentiality agreements, employment contracts, and compliance with Title VII, ADEA, ADA, FLSA, and other employment related issues.

Representative Experience
  • Obtained complete dismissal on summary judgment of 11-count complaint on behalf of New Jersey municipality which alleged various employment related claims, including discrimination and violation of Conscientious Employee Protection Act.
  • Defended prominent health care company in connection with claims for non-payment of overtime benefits, and claims for retaliation and wrongful termination.
  • Prepared employee handbook for New York City restaurant with multiple locations, and presented anti-harassment and anti-discrimination training for 100+ employees.
  • Counseled prominent national hotel chain following acquisition of 325-room New Jersey hotel concerning severance, benefits, terminations, and offers of employment.
  • Defended multi-state class action lawsuit on behalf of prominent national fitness corporation for unilateral monthly rate increases in contravention of membership agreements.
