Date   Oct 10, 2011

Ford & Harrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, is pleased to announce that Best Lawyers, the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession, has named James G. Brown the "Best Lawyers' 2012 Orlando Employment Law - Management Lawyer" of the Year and Kay L. Wolf the "Best Lawyers' 2012 Orlando Labor Law - Management Lawyer of the Year."

After more than a quarter of a century in publication, Best Lawyers is designating "Lawyers of the Year" in high-profile legal specialties in large legal communities. Only a single lawyer in each specialty in each community is being honored as the "Lawyer of the Year."

Jim Brown concentrates his practice on labor relations law, employment discrimination law, defense of wage and hour matters and mediation. He regularly represents employers before the National Labor Relations Board, the State of Florida Public Employees Relations Commission and the United States Department of Labor. Brown is a certified mediator who has mediated over 600 labor and employment cases. He represents companies and employers in a variety of industries including health care, transportation, government contracting, and the public sector such as cities, towns and school boards.  Jim received his J. D. from University of North Carolina School of Law in 1970.

Kay Wolf, Board-certified by the Florida Bar as a Specialist in labor and employment law, has practiced in the area since 1976. Her practice is devoted to providing management with the necessary tools to meet the challenges in today's employment arena, through proactive legal advice, training, and litigating complex cases in both trial and appellate courts. Kay is a certified mediator in Florida's circuit courts and in the U.S. Middle District of Florida. She also serves as an arbitrator. Kay received her J.D. from University of Louisville School of Law in 1975.

Best Lawyers compiles its lists of outstanding attorneys by conducting exhaustive peer-review surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The current, 18th edition of The Best Lawyers in America (2012) is based on more than 3.9 million detailed evaluations of lawyers by other lawyers.

Steven Naifeh, President of Best Lawyers, says, "We continue to believe – as we have believed for more than 25 years – that recognition by one's peers is the most meaningful form of praise in the legal profession. We would like to congratulate James G. Brown and Kay L. Wolf."
