Lash Harrison Named Emory Law's 2015 Distinguished Alumni Award Winner

FordHarrison LLP, one of the country's largest management-side labor and employment law firms, is pleased to announce that C. Lash Harrison, a partner in the firm's Atlanta office, has been awarded Emory University School of Law's 2015 Distinguished Alumni Award. The Distinguished Alumni Award is given to an alumna or alumnus who embodies the values of the school and has demonstrated extraordinary achievement in the legal profession and in service to society.

"I am honored to be the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award by my prestigious alma mater, Emory Law," said Lash. "I look forward to continuing my contribution to Emory Law's goals of promoting achievement, advancement and excellence in all areas of legal education."

Emory Law will host its 2015 Alumni Awards ceremony Friday, September 25, 2015 at 7:00 PM in the law school's Tull Auditorium. 

Lash Harrison 62B 65L, recipient of Emory Law's 2015 Distinguished Alumni Award, has had an accomplished career since graduating from Emory in 1965. He founded FordHarrison LLP in 1978 and has served as its managing partner since.  Under his leadership, FordHarrison has become one of the largest and most respected labor and employment firms in the country, with over 200 lawyers in 29 offices, including six affiliate firms throughout the U.S.  Since 2013, the firm has also expanded its reach globally by collaborating with Ius Laboris, a global alliance of more than 1300 labor and employment lawyers in 47 different countries. Lash has been nationally recognized as a resourceful, creative leader in law firm management with a systemic commitment to employee development, business development, mentoring and pro bono work. In addition to excellent legal representation, FordHarrison is known for its commitment to training and mentoring young lawyers, its business development program for more seasoned lawyers, its close partnership with Habitat for Humanity, and its integration of public service work into the law firm's culture and practice. For these and other forward-thinking changes in law firm practices, Lash has been repeatedly recognized and honored as one of the most innovative law firm leaders in the country.

Throughout his career, Lash has also served in leadership roles in the Atlanta and Emory communities. He has served on the Emory Law Advisory Board, as a member of the executive committee for Emory University's Board of Visitors, and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Trinity School. He has demonstrated strong philanthropic and community support for Emory Law as a member of its campaign planning committee, the Barristers' Club giving society committee, and a reunion committee leader for his class.
