Corey represents employers in a broad range of labor and employment matters, drawing on extensive experience handling complex civil litigation in state and federal courts.

Corey is a seasoned litigator who has managed matters through all stages of litigation, including discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, mediation, settlement negotiations and trial. His practice has included employment disputes, commercial litigation, breach of contract claims, premises liability, professional liability and other business-related matters. He has appeared in general district, circuit and appellate courts in Virginia and the District of Columbia and has significant experience drafting and arguing substantive and dispositive motions.

Prior to joining FordHarrison, Corey practiced with several law firms in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Most recently, he served as a civil litigation attorney, handling commercial and employment matters, and maintaining a particular focus on homeowners association covenant enforcement litigation. Earlier in his career, Corey served as coverage counsel to insurance carriers on commercial crime policy and fidelity bond claims and represented insurers in related litigation and subrogation actions. He also handled a wide variety of civil defense matters, including employment, personal injury, professional malpractice and construction cases.

Corey began his legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Jan L. Brodie and the Honorable David A. Oblon of the Fairfax County Circuit Court. In that role, he managed the judges’ civil motions dockets, reviewed motions and briefs, prepared advisory memoranda and assisted Judge Oblon in drafting four published opinions.

Corey earned his J.D., cum laude, from George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School, where he was a member of the George Mason Law Review, Moot Court Board and Trial Advocacy Association. He earned his B.A. in criminology, with a minor in terrorism studies, from the University of Maryland.
