FordHarrison LLP, one of the country’s largest management-side labor and employment law firms, is pleased to announce that Alex T. Harne has joined the Fort Myers office as an associate.

Alex focuses his practice on the representation of management in employment law matters. Alex advises and advocates for employers in discrimination and retaliation claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act, Family Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, and Title VII, as well as in wage and hour disputes and other issues related to employment and labor law. Alex also counsels employers on a variety of personnel issues including employee handbooks and safety manuals, family and medical leave and other leave policies, and employment separation agreements.
Prior to joining FordHarrison, Alex served as a law clerk in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida, as well as for a major real estate investment company. He has additional corporate and court experience including working as a law clerk in the general counsel's office of a pharmaceutical company. He has also gained extensive research and writing experience through law clerk and judicial internship positions in the City of Miami Attorney's Office, the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court of Florida, and the Lee County Attorney's Office.
In addition to Alex's legal experience, he has first-hand legislation experience, having worked in the office of two state representatives as a Legislative Scholar. This role included tracking bills, attending various legislative committee meetings, providing analysis of newly-introduced legislation, meeting with representatives of interest groups and corresponding with the Representatives’ constituents.
