Catherine R. Gambill is an Associate with Kastner Westman & Wilkins, which is an affiliate of FordHarrison LLP.

Catherine’s interest in the law began at an early age, working at her father’s law office before attending college at Miami University. Originally drawn to the career by a motivation to resolve conflicts, coupled with her academic strengths of reading and writing, pursuing a career as an attorney was an easy choice and a natural fit.

Throughout law school at The Ohio State University College of Law and following graduation, Catherine’s first attorney position was with an insurance defense firm, where she gained substantial experience in employment litigation and workers’ compensation. Catherine subsequently joined
K | W | W, where she significantly expanded her workers’ compensation knowledge. Catherine has vast experience in advising and assisting employers with preemptive documentation and strategic decision-making for work-related injuries, and representing employers before the Ohio Industrial Commission and in litigation before Ohio Courts of Commons Pleas statewide.

Catherine stepped away from the private practice of law to serve as a District Hearing Officer for the Ohio Industrial Commission Akron Regional Office, where she presided over and adjudicated approximately 1,000 contested workers’ compensation claims each year. From her unique professional experience in a neutral, adjudicatory capacity – and as a daughter of a plaintiff’s side attorney – Catherine is empathetic and compassionate to how employment-related matters affect and impact all the parties involved, both within and outside of the workplace.
