Dallas-Based Ford & Harrison Attorney Matthew R. Scott Selected to "Texas Super Lawyers" 2011 List

Date   Sep 13, 2011

Ford & Harrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, is pleased to announce that Matthew R. Scott, a partner in the firm's Dallas office, has been selected for inclusion in the 2011 list of "Texas Super Lawyers" by Law & Politics Magazine.

Scott focuses his practice on representing public and private sector management in employment discrimination and civil rights lawsuits in federal and state court at both the district court and appellate court levels. He also routinely advises clients on day-to-day employment issues, including handbook and policy and procedure manual drafting and revising, employment and separation agreements, arbitration agreements, drug testing policies and procedures, and employment applications.

Scott is board certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He chairs the Fifth Circuit Labor & Employment Law Pattern Jury Charge Advisory Committee, which is responsible for drafting the pattern jury charges for use in employment discrimination cases tried in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. He has authored numerous publications on employment law, civil rights law and litigation practices.  Scott received his J.D. from Drake University in 1995.

Attorneys are selected for this honor through a statewide nomination process, peer review by practice area and independent research on candidates.  The rigorous process is designed to identify lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.  Only five percent of attorneys in the state of Texas are named "Super Lawyers."
