Ford & Harrison Attorney Dawn Siler-Nixon Appointed American Bar Association AIDS Coordinating Committee Chair

Ford & Harrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, is pleased to announce that Dawn Siler-Nixon, Diversity & Inclusion Partner, has recently been appointed as the American Bar Association (ABA) AIDS Coordinating Committee Chair.

As the AIDS Coordinating Committee Chair, Siler-Nixon will be responsible for leading the organization's coordination of activities of all participating ABA entities that have a common interest in the AIDS arena. She will also continue to focus the Committee on bringing lawyers and policy advocates together to examine complex legal and policy issues and explore innovative approaches to the issues facing our communities.

"I am honored to be appointed by ABA President, Bill Robinson III, as the AIDS Coordinating Committee Chair," Siler-Nixon commented. "I have been a member of this Committee and advocate for its mission for many years and now look forward to serving with many trusted advisors, advocates and friends over the coming year."

Siler-Nixon has represented employers in litigating labor and employment law matters for more than 17 years. Her practice focuses on advising and representing employers in discrimination and harassment cases in federal and state litigation, as well as union election campaigns, including preparing anti-union campaigns and appealing certification. She has handled trials in state and federal court, arbitrations and trials of representation cases and unfair labor practice charges involving non-competes, wage and hour violations, sexual harassment, family and medical leave issues, retaliation, disability, and discrimination based on any protected characteristic. She has also successfully represented employers before local, state and federal agencies. Siler-Nixon received her J.D. from the University of North Carolina, at Chapel Hill School of Law in 1993.
