Ford & Harrison Attorney John C. Lowrie Selected to Participate in the Afghanistan Justice Sector Support Program

DENVER – Ford & Harrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, is proud to announce that senior counsel John C. Lowrie of the Denver office has been selected to participate in the Afghanistan Justice Sector Support Program ("JSSP"). JSSP is a United States State Department funded program that is assisting the government of Afghanistan in developing and strengthening its criminal justice sector, as a means to enable the courts and professionals in the justice sector to deliver fair and effective services to the citizens of Afghanistan.

Lowrie has been with the firm for over eight years and is best known for his expertise in military leave law under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reeemployment Rights Act ("USSERRA"). He will be leaving for Afghanistan in early August and will transition into an of counsel role with the firm until he completes his tour with the JSSP.

Lowrie has been actively involved in Denver and Colorado community service. He is the outgoing State Chair of the Colorado Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve ("ESGR"). He is a former board member of the Anchor Center for Blind Children and Colorado Youth at Risk. Lowrie is a 2004 graduate of Leadership Denver and a 2002 graduate of the Colorado Institute of Leadership and Training. He graduated from the Naval Academy in 1989 and served five years in the Navy. Lowrie received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1997.
