ATLANTA - Ford & Harrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, is pleased to announce that attorney Rachel R. Krause was recently elected as Northern District Representative to the Executive Council for the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of the State Bar of Georgia. Krause will hold the position for two years, serving from 2009 to 2011.
The executive council is part of the governance structure of the YLD. It is made up of representatives from the Northern Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia, along with two out-of-state members and 12 at-large members. As a representative of the Northern District, Krause will be responsible for overseeing the YLD committees and the members of the YLD's standing committees, including budget, rules, policy and membership. She will also serve as the Chair of the YLD Law Related Education Committee.
"I am honored to be elected a Northern District Representative to the Executive Council," Krause said. "I am truly looking forward to serving in this capacity over the next two years."
Krause focuses her practice on employment litigation matters, as well as representing life, health and disability insurers, third-party administrators, and ERISA plan sponsors in benefits litigation. She also has a background in tort defense and commercial general liability. She has represented clients in both state and federal courts at all stages of litigation, including mediation, trial and appeal.
