Ford & Harrison Dallas Managing Partner Honored by State Bar

DALLAS – Ford & Harrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, announced Tuesday that Michael P. Maslanka, managing partner of the firm’s Dallas office, was honored by the State Bar of Texas for his contribution to the Bar’s continuing legal education program. Maslanka and eight other Texas attorneys received “The Standing Ovation Award” for their contributions in 2007.

In describing the award, Patrick Nester, Director of TexasBarCLE, explained, “It is a recognition by the staff of individuals who have stood out this year for their extraordinary commitment – of time and leadership – and for the inspirations and insight they provided.”

This past year, Maslanka served as a planning committee member and speaker for the 2008 Advanced Employment Law Course, the 2008 Representing Small Business Seminar and the 2008 Bar/College Summer School CLE Program.

“I am very grateful for this award and for the opportunity I have had to work with TexasBarCLE,” Maslanka said. “I believe that continuing legal education is central to ensuring that attorneys are able to offer the quality service that clients have come to expect.”

Mike Maslanka has over 20 years of experience in litigation and trial of employment law cases, including defending several multi-party cases under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Civil Rights Act of 1991. He has served as Adjunct Counsel to a Fortune 10 company where he provided multi-state counseling on employment matters and has also served as a Field Attorney for the National Labor Relations Board.

Mike is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and is AV® Peer-Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and received his J.D., cum laude, from Tulane University Law School in 1981.
