Ford & Harrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, announces the addition of
Kathleen A. Liever as a senior associate in the firm's Tampa office. Prior to joining Ford & Harrison, Liever was an associate in the employment practice of Fowler White Boggs, P.A. in Tampa.
Ford & Harrison's Tampa office has experienced significant growth over the last two months. Liever is the third new attorney to join the office since June. She joins Dennis Creed, who previously practiced with Robbins Equitas in St. Petersburg, and Shannon Kelly who was with Wicker Smith O'Hara McCoy & Ford in Tampa. In addition, two first year lawyers will join the Tampa office as well.
Liever focuses her practice on the representation of employers in labor and employment law matters. She represents employers and management in a variety of employment-related disputes involving allegations of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful discharge, employment contracts, minimum and overtime wage issues and OSHA matters.
In addition to providing proactive day-to-day employment advice, Liever has represented clients before federal and state courts as well as administrative agencies, like the EEOC and state and local human rights commissions. She is also an active speaker, having provided presentations on employment law topics to audiences in the legal and human resources communities.
During law school, Liever was a legal intern with the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia and was a judicial intern serving The Honorable Reggie B. Walton in the U.S. District Court of the District of Columbia.
"Kathleen is a welcome addition that will add both talent and depth to the Tampa office," said Tracey Jaensch, managing partner of Ford & Harrison's Tampa office. "We believe she will complement our current team of lawyers nicely."
