TAMPA & ATLANTA — Ford & Harrison, a national labor and employment law firm, is pleased to announce that Dinita L. James, a partner in the Tampa office, has been recognized by the Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers as a “Lawyer in the Spotlight” for her performance and exemplary conduct as an attorney.
In addition, Ms. James recently received the American Bar Association Section of Litigation’s Award of Excellence for outstanding leadership in the area of regional and CLE programming for the second year in a row.
Ms. James joined Ford & Harrison in 2001, after 11 years with another Tampa law firm. She advises clients on dealing with the media in high-profile cases. She has extensive experience litigating large employment discrimination class-action suits, and represents employers in individual cases involving anti-discrimination, whistleblower protection and anti-retaliation law, as well as in the enforcement of non-compete and trade-secret agreements.
Ms. James received her undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1980 and her law degree, with highest honors, also from University of North Carolina where she graduated first in her class in 1990. She serves in a number of leadership positions, and recently concluded her term as President of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers.
