Ford & Harrison Welcomes Matthew R. Scott to Dallas Office

DALLAS - Ford & Harrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, announces the addition of Matthew R. Scott as partner in the firm's Dallas office. Scott is a former partner of Bell Nunnally and Martin LLP in Dallas.

Scott focuses his statewide practice representing management on labor and employment law. He has represented employers against cases of discrimination and other civil rights violations in federal and state court at both the district court and appellate court levels. He also routinely advises clients on day-to-day employment issues and assists with drafting and revising of handbooks, policy and procedure manuals, employment and separation agreements, arbitration agreements, non-compete agreements, drug testing policies and procedures and employment applications.

Scott was named one of the "Best Lawyers in Dallas Under 40" by D Business Magazine and was named a "Texas Rising Star" by Texas Monthly Magazine. In addition, he is AV® Peer-Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He is a member of the Dallas Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the Federal Bar Association, and he was honored by being named chair of the Fifth Circuit Labor & Employment Law Pattern Jury Charge Advisory Committee. He has also authored numerous publications on employment law, civil rights law, and litigation practices.

Scott earned his law degree from Drake University in 1995. He is board certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He currently serves as a council member on the Rockwall City Council in Rockwall, Texas.
