Ford & Harrison’s D. Gerald Coker Named to the Board of Directors for the National Association of Dealer Counsel

ATLANTA - Ford & Harrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, is pleased to announce that D. Gerald Coker has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the National Association of Dealer Counsel. In addition, Mr. Coker continues to serve as Chair of the Labor and Employment Section of this organization.

The National Association of Dealer Counsel (NADC) is a nationwide professional organization of attorneys who represent automobile and other vehicle/vessel dealers. The NADC provides a forum for members to share information, common experience, advice, help and answers to questions on manufacturer franchise issues, lemon laws, vehicle finance and regulatory complexities, insurance laws, tax laws, multiple regulatory requirements, buy sell agreements, rights of first refusal and employment laws and the many other issues facing dealers and their counsel today.

Mr. Coker has devoted the last thirty-one (31) years to working with dealers and dealership associations on a broad range of labor and employment matters, including employee discrimination claims, “wrongful discharge” lawsuits, union organizing drives and wage-hour investigations. While his practice regularly involves appearances before the National Labor Relations Board and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, he has conducted numerous management training seminars on how to avoid employee relations problems. He regularly advises dealers and their corporate counsel on the development of effective strategies to deal with all labor and employment issues which arise during dealership acquisitions.

Mr. Coker is past Chairman and a current member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Georgia Bar, as well as a member of the American Bar Association and the Atlanta Bar Association. He is AV® Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America (2006 edition).
