FordHarrison Adds New Associate to New York Office

FordHarrison LLP, one of the country's largest management-side labor and employment law firms, is pleased to announce the addition of Alyssa M. Smilowitz as Associate to the New York office. Alyssa comes to FordHarrison from Jackson Lewis P.C.

Alyssa concentrates her practice on counseling clients in employment law matters. Her practice includes representing employers in litigation involving claims of discrimination, harassment and retaliation, and violations of federal and state employment law regulations.

Alyssa has extensive experience drafting position statements, pleadings, legal briefs, discovery documents, motions, settlement agreements and affidavits. She also assists clients with the analysis of employment files, records and agreements in preparation for single-plaintiff and wage and hour class action litigation. To help employers avoid potential litigation risks, Alyssa advises them on disability and leave management issues regarding compliance with FMLA, ADA and analogous state laws, including drafting employer letters to employees and healthcare providers.  Additionally, Alyssa drafts and revises employee handbooks, separation agreements, employer trainings and drug and alcohol testing policies. She is a graduate of Emory University School of Law and Princeton University.
