Monroe, Jr., partner in firm’s Atlanta office has been elected to the position of Firm Managing Partner following Allen J. McKenna’s retirement, effective January 1, 2024.
As Firm Managing Partner, Monroe will play a pivotal role in guiding the strategic direction of the firm, overseeing day-to-day operations, and continuing to provide exceptional legal counsel to our clients. With a proven track record of success and dedication to the firm's values, Monroe is well-positioned to lead FordHarrison to new heights.

Monroe’s legal journey has been an integral part of the firm since 1987 and he has consistently demonstrated excellence in his legal practice throughout. Monroe initially joined FordHarrison as a Summer Associate in the summer of 1986 and officially joined the firm as an Associate the following year. Diligently working his way through the legal ladder at FordHarrison, Monroe excelled in his practice and was elected to several leadership positions in the firm, serving for over 20 years as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and five years as General Counsel providing oversight over essential operations and resources for the firm. Prior to his appointment as General Counsel, Monroe served as Office Managing Partner of the Atlanta office for 15 years and has served on the Diversity Executive Counsel since its inception in 2004. Monroe’s dedication to the firm throughout his entire legal career uniquely positions Monroe with intimate knowledge of the firm’s framework making him an invaluable asset and a testament of the success of the firm with his growth alongside it.
