Three New York-Based FordHarrison Attorneys Named 2019 Super Lawyers and Rising Stars

Date   Sep 17, 2019

FordHarrison LLP, one of the country’s largest management-side labor and employment law firms, is pleased to announce that Philip K. Davidoff and Stephen E. Zweig, attorneys in the firm’s New York office, have been selected to the 2019 “New York Metro Super Lawyers” list. Jeffrey G. Douglas, Counsel in the New York office, has been named to the 2019 “New York Metro Rising Stars” list.

Attorneys are selected for this honor through a statewide nomination process, peer review by practice area and independent research on candidates. This rigorous process is designed to identify lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Only five percent of attorneys in the state of New York are named “Super Lawyers.”

The Rising Stars list recognizes the top up-and-coming attorneys in the state – those who are 40 years old or younger, or those who have been practicing for 10 years or less. While up to five percent of the lawyers in the state are named to Super Lawyers, no more than 2.5 percent are named to the Rising Stars list.

Phil Davidoff serves as the New York City’s managing partner and represents management in employment law matters, including claims involving discrimination, sexual harassment, wage and hour laws, family and medical leave laws, breach of contract, restrictive covenants and common law torts. He has defended litigations in federal and state courts and administrative agencies across the United States, as well as in arbitrations before the National Association of Securities Dealers, FINRA and the American Arbitration Association. He also regularly counsels employers on all aspects of employment law and workplace issues.

Stephen Zweig leads the firm’s executive compensation practice and previously served as managing partner of the firm’s New York office for the past ten years. Stephen represents and counsels executives in employment negotiations when they are entering, during, and leaving employment. He has counseled hundreds of individuals in negotiating their employment and separation agreements, including both total compensation packages and separation packages. Stephen is well known for his negotiating strategies. He is a Lexis Practice Advisor on executive compensation, has authored a chapter in Bloomberg BNA’s Executive Compensation treatise, has been published by many other media sources, and speaks regularly to associations and professional groups. Stephen is also pro-bono assistant general counsel for the Financial Women's Association of New York, and co-heads its Men's Alliance Committee.

Jeffrey Douglas concentrates his practice on counseling and representing employers in a broad range of labor and employment matters. Jeffrey focuses his practice on wage and hour compliance and litigation, employment discrimination litigation, traditional labor law, and ERISA matters. He has extensive experience litigating collective action wage and hour and employment discrimination matters in both federal and state courts as well as representing clients in administrative proceedings before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, New York State Division of Human Rights, U.S. Department of Labor and National Labor Relations Board.
