Date   Nov 25, 2019

FordHarrison LLP, one of the country’s largest management-side labor and employment law firms, is pleased to announce that Estefania (Stef) P. Ramirez and Timia A. Skelton have joined the firm’s Atlanta office as associates.

Prior to joining FordHarrison as an associate, Stef spent two summers in the firm's Atlanta office as a Summer Associate and as a Summer Associate/1L Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Scholar in both the Atlanta and New York City offices. Through this experience she gained skills in performing legal research, drafting legal memoranda, and revising personnel handbooks.

In law school, Stef was awarded the CALI Award in Advanced Legal Writing, was a Finalist and earned Best Brief Runner-up in the 2019 Intrastate Moot Court Competition, and won the 2019 James C. Estes Moot Court Award. She was also heavily involved in organizational activities including serving as the Co-President for the Hispanic Law Students Association, Secretary for the Association of Women Law Students, and Co-Editor of the Mercer Advocacy Council Instraschool Moot Court Competition.

Prior to beginning her legal career as an associate with FordHarrison, Timia was a summer associate in the firm's Atlanta office, responsible for conducting legal research, drafting legal memoranda and pre-trial motions, and attending depositions and witness interviews. While in law school, Timia also gained judicial experience, serving as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Sara Doyle, Chief Judge in the Georgia Court of Appeals.

Timia also balanced significant organizational involvement with her law school studies, having served as Notes Editor for the Georgia Journal of International & Comparative Law, as well as devoting time to the Prosecutorial Justice Clinic, Lumpkin Inn of Court, and the Black Law Students Association. In addition to these activities, Timia was extensively involved in moot court advocacy, advancing all the way to Semi-Finalist in the Russell and Talmadge Moot Court Competitions and aiding her moot court team in winning Best Team at both the Georgia Intrastate Moot Court Competition and subsequently the Hunton Andrews Kurth National Moot Court Competition, which invites the nation's top 16 moot court programs.
