NEW YORK -- Ford & Harrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, is pleased to announce the addition of William Carmell to its New York office as Partner effective October 1. With 25 years of experience in employment law, Mr. Carmell will enhance the firm’s reputation as one of the leading labor and employment law firms in the country.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Carmell was a partner in the labor and employment relations practice at Winston & Strawn LLP in New York, where he represented American multinational companies in the pharmaceutical, banking, consumer products and petrochemical industries in connection with high-profile matters throughout the United States. He has extensive experience in Title VII and ADEA class actions, as well as single-plaintiff litigation on behalf of management and affirmative action law.
Mr. Carmell also has significant experience representing American and foreign-owned multinational corporations in connection with international employment law matters. He has represented a number of foreign-owned companies doing business in the United States, in particular, trading companies, banks, financial houses and manufacturing companies.

Mr. Carmell has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for more than 10 years and was selected for the 2007 edition. He is also listed in the “Guide to the World’s Leading Labour and Employment Lawyers,” published by Euromoney Publications, PLC, a British international financial magazine, and Strathmore’s Who’s Who for 2003-2004.
He has written numerous articles in his areas of practice for such publications as The New York State Bar Journal, the ABA Banking Journal, the Employee Relations Law Journal and Business and Society Review, and has had articles published in foreign newspapers and periodicals, including The Japan Times and the International Legal Strategy magazine published in Japanese.
A graduate of the University of Michigan (B.A.) and Columbia Law School (LL.B.), Mr. Carmell is on the adjunct faculty of Cornell University’s New York State School of Industrial and Labor Relations and has taught for the American Management Association and the Society for Human Resource Management.
