Zascha Blanco Abbott Named American Bar Association Outstanding Subcommittee Chair

FordHarrison LLP is pleased to announce that Zascha Blanco Abbott was selected as the Outstanding Subcommittee Chair for the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Litigation. Zascha will be recognized at the 2014 Section Annual Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona on April 10.  She was chosen for this distinction by the co-chairs of her committee for her hard work during the course of her leadership year. 

The Section of Litigation, the largest specialty section of the ABA, is dedicated to helping litigators become more effective advocates for their clients. The Section is a legal publisher, a provider of programming, a source of news and analysis, and a strong national voice in discussions concerning the profession. The mission of the Section of Litigation is to dedicate its efforts to accomplishing these critical objectives while, at the same time, providing its members the resources and opportunities to help them be effective, competent and ethical advocates on behalf of their clients and in the eyes of the public.

Zascha Blanco Abbott focuses her practice on the representation of public and private employers in labor and employment disputes. She has represented employers in a variety of employment matters, such as claims of discrimination, hostile work environment, wrongful discharge, constitutional violations, retaliation, and wage cases. Zascha also provides proactive employment advice to clients including policy development and employee handbook reviews. Her labor relations experience includes engaging in collective bargaining negotiations, preparing collective bargaining proposals, and preparing collective bargaining agreements as well as providing employers with guidance on labor issues. In addition to serving as Subcommittee Chair for the ABA Section of Litigation, Zascha co-chairs the Publications Subcommittee of the Labor and Employment Section of The Florida Bar and chairs the Labor and Employment Committee of the Dade County Bar Association.
