About the Program
Employers today are overburdened with the weight of regulations stemming from a multitude of laws governing the workplace.  This "alphabet soup" of laws includes the ADA, FMLA and Workers' Compensation laws.  Every day, workplace occurrences, such as requests for leave, have the potential to raise difficult questions under each of these laws.  Unfortunately, working with all these laws concurrently is often akin to assembling a jigsaw puzzle, and if a leave request is not handled properly, the employer could face liability under each statute.  As a result, it is imperative that employers utilize a multi-track analysis that considers all relevant laws.  In this breakfast briefing, FordHarrison attorneys Robbin Sutton and Allison Cotton will illustrate a number of important areas of overlap, identify where employers most commonly make mistakes, and offer pragmatic approaches for streamlining your approach to these issues.
