David C. Chang is a seasoned employment litigator who represents employers in complex, high-stakes disputes across a wide range of labor and employment matters. 

David focuses his practice on defending businesses in class actions, representative PAGA claims, and individual lawsuits involving wage-and-hour issues, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and other workplace-related claims.
David has extensive experience managing all phases of litigation, from pre-litigation strategy through trial and appeal. He regularly handles matters involving alleged unpaid wages, meal and rest period violations, and employee misclassification, and he works closely with clients to develop practical, cost-effective strategies that align with their business objectives. 

In addition to his litigation practice, David provides proactive counseling to employers to mitigate risk, prevent disputes, and ensure compliance with evolving employment laws. He partners with clients to address workplace challenges before they escalate into litigation.

Prior to his current role, David gained valuable experience advising corporate clients on complex commercial transactions and compliance matters, including negotiating agreements and conducting financial and regulatory audits. His background also includes representing employers, insurers, and individuals in a variety of civil litigation matters, giving him a well-rounded perspective on dispute resolution and risk management.

  • Negotiated favorable resolution to a lawsuit filed by former employees of a privately-held chain of grocery stores alleging the employer and managers failed to accommodate disabilities, discriminated and harassed employees due to the disabilities, and claimed inaccurate wage statements, unpaid overtime, and rest & meal break violations. 
  • Secured favorable resolution to a PAGA action against a regional service company with over a thousand putative class members.
  • Obtained a unanimous defense verdict in a tort action against Plaintiffs seeking over $2.5 million in damages in Los Angeles Superior Court.
