Two FordHarrison Attorneys Listed as 2022 Washington, DC Super Lawyers and Rising Stars

WASHINGTON, D.C. – FordHarrison LLP, one of the country’s largest management-side labor and employment law firms, is pleased to announce that two attorneys in the firm’s Washington, DC office have been selected for inclusion on the 2022 Washington, DC Super Lawyers or Rising Stars lists. Anessa Abrams was recognized as a Super Lawyer while Jacquelyn L. Thompson was named a Rising Star.

Anessa serves as the Managing Partner of the Washington, DC office. As a management labor and employment attorney, her practice ranges from unfair labor practice complaints under the National Labor Relations Act to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and non-compete matters.  Anessa counsels corporate executives and managers on the myriad of issues that arise in the employer-employee relationship, including classification issues under the Fair Labor Standards Act, leave requests, employee terminations, and layoffs.  Anessa has investigated allegations of inappropriate workplace conduct, and has conducted training sessions for managers and supervisors on EEO issues.

Jacki represents management in a wide range of employment matters, with particular expertise in labor relations in the airline and healthcare industries. As a member of the firm’s Airline Group, she assists both airlines and airline carrier service providers in grievance resolution matters, including grievance arbitrations and mediation. Jacki also defends employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), various state agencies, and in state and federal courts against claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, among other things. In addition to the work she does in the airline and healthcare industries, Jacki has a special interest in charter schools and represents the first unionized charter school in Washington, DC.

The rigorous process is designed to identify lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The Rising Stars list recognizes the top up-and-coming attorneys in the state – those who are 40 years old or younger, or those who have been practicing for 10 years or less. No more than 2.5 percent of lawyers in the state are named to the Rising Stars list.
